In the early 90’s, property tax attorneys, Messrs. Sleggs, Danzinger and Gill practiced law together in a small boutique law firm focusing on national, state and local tax issues with an emphasis on assisting Ohio taxpayers in their attempts to lower real property tax obligations. In 1995, the three attorneys commenced separate careers, but each maintaining a focus on national, state and local taxation issues.
Mr. Sleggs commenced his private firm, Todd W. Sleggs & Associates, where he exclusively represented taxpayers in all of Ohio’s eighty-eight counties while gaining statewide recognition as an industry leader. Mr. Danzinger became employed by a large Ohio law firm (Schottenstein, Zox & Dunn) becoming an equity partner and member of the firm’s litigation and real estate sections. His practice included the representation of national and local taxpayers in addition to the representation of clients in business and family law matters. For more than ten years, Mr. Gill was employed by an international accounting firm (Ernst & Young) where he became the National Director of Property Tax Services for the firm’s State and Local Tax Practice. In that role, Mr. Gill gained a tremendous amount of national experience and knowledge by appearing before various tax boards and county personnel across the country.
In 2005, Messrs. Sleggs, Danzinger and Gill decided to combine their then nearly 50 years of state and local tax experiences to form SD&G, an Ohio law firm dedicated to assisting taxpayers locally, statewide, and nationally.
In 2008, SDG was honored to be named the National Property Tax Group’s sole Ohio representative allowing SDG to expand its representation of taxpayers throughout all 50 states and Canada.
