Online Banking and Bill Payment, Open an Account Online, Treasury Management Tools for Business

Our History: Built Strong. On September 16, 1893, during the Panic of 1893, fifteen men gathered to form the Savings and Loan Association of Topeka. The Bank was established during a time of economic uncertainty, but with a vision to help people build better futures. Throughout its first 50 years, the bank weathered the Great Depression and two World Wars, all while staying true to its core principles and remaining customer-first. By the 1950s, CapFed® had opened the first bank branch in Kansas and quickly expanded beyond two Topeka offices, adding one branch in Lawrence and one branch in the Kansas City area. In 1960 Capitol Federal installed its first “computer” – a Univac “tab” machine, and continued to lead in technological advances with the installation of an online data processing system in 1972, followed by the first “Passcard”, then a telephone bill pay system and the Bank’s first ATM. The Bank grew steadily through the 20th century in asset size and footprint, setting a solid foundation for future growth. In 1995 the iconic True Blue® logo was introduced, symbolizing our commitment to honesty, integrity, and stability—values that continue to guide us today. In 1999, Capitol Federal Financial went public, raising substantial capital and allowing the bank to continue expanding its services and reach. Now, with over 40 locations across Kansas and Missouri, we remain dedicated to delivering high-quality financial services to our customers with both secure technologies and exceptional customer service. True Blue® Leadership. We believe positive leadership uplifts everyone and leadership is about making others around you better. We have a management team that is both accessible and knowledgeable, leading by encouragement and cooperation, and inspires teams to achieve their potential. In addition, leadership among peers plays a role in contributing to the success and growth of our employees.
