The American Cane System was developed by 8 time World Champion – Grand Master Mark Shuey Sr.  Shuey created his system in order to help individuals in all physical conditions gain independence, wellness, self-defense, and martial arts.  In The American Cane System students are able to learn techniques that help them feel confident, capable, and able to defend themselves.  Grand Master Shuey has mastered several forms of Martial Arts including the Chuck Norris system. Grand Master Shuey created a self defense system that allows students to learn how to use the cane in Martial Arts in a discipline that graduates from Yellow belt to Black Belt. GM Mark Shuey offers several different systems in his program and credits his years of success in Martial Arts to a basis in Yoga.  His systems consist of “The American Cane System”, “Yoga Play”, “Cane FU”, “Cane JA”, “Cane Chi”,  “Silver Dragons”, and the “Warrior Cane Project”. Each system is designed to cover specific needs within a training program. Martial Arts classes using a cane are part of “The American Cane System” are offered by Grand Master Mark Shuey via his virtual Dojo and at his North Lake Tahoe Martial Arts facility.   North Lake Tahoe Martial Arts also provides Tae Kwon Do instruction for all levels from “Little Dragons” through Black Belt.  Join us for classes using the cane for self-defense and exercise, as well as “YogaPlay” and “Zumba” Fitness classes.
